Drontal®: the best dog wormer
Drontal® provides your pet with complete coverage against gastrointestinal worms, as well as controlling the shedding of Giardia spp. cysts. Our treatment is required every three months (from 6 months of age), rather than monthly, and comes in a range of chews, tablets or a puppy suspension to make treating your pet as easy as possible.
Drontal Allwormer® for Small Dogs & Puppies is suitable for dogs of all shapes and sizes, as you can halve tablets to match the required dosage. It’s safe to use during pregnancy and lactation to keep worms at bay throughout your dog’s life.

Dosage
For small dogs and puppies between 500 g and 9 kg.
FOR INTESTINAL WORMS: One tablet for Small Dogs and Puppies treats 3 kg.
It is essential to weigh dogs before treatment.
Fasting prior to dosing is not necessary. Administer the dog’s correct dose by mouth. If worm problems persist, consult a veterinarian.

Intestinal Worms Treatment Recommendations
Worms can infect dogs in many ways, so it is necessary to;
- treat the dog itself
- reduce the environmental contamination by daily disposal of droppings
- remove tapeworm intermediate hosts eg. fleas
- never allow dogs to feed on offal of any species
Drontal Allwormer® Tablets for Small Dogs & Puppies FAQs
Treat puppies at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 weeks of age. Then at 4, 5 and 6 months of age.
Treat adults (over 6 months) every 3 months. Treat every 6 weeks in Hydatid tapeworm infested locations. If Whipworm is a problem retreat every 6 – 8 weeks.
Drontal® Allwormer for Small Dogs & Puppies treat and control the following gastrointestinal worms;
- Roundworms Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina.
- Hookworms Ancylostoma caninum, Ancylostoma brazilience (this hookworms is usually restricted to tropical areas in Australia), Ancylostoma ceylanicum, Uncinaria stenocephala
- Whipworm Trichuris vulpis
- Tapeworm Echinococcus granulosus (hydatid tapeworms), Dipylidium caninum, (common flea tapeworm), Taenia spp., Taenia ovis, T. pisiformis, T. hydatigena
- and to control the shedding of cysts of the protozoan Giardia spp. in dogs.
Does not control heartworm in dogs. If worm problems persist, consult a veterinarian.
Yes, Drontal® may be combined with other treatments, for example heartworm prevention, flea or tick treatment. Drontal® may be given safely to all dogs including old animals, young pups, working dogs and greyhounds.
For pregnant and lactating dogs, it is recommend you treat at mating, then 10 days before whelping and at 2 and 4 weeks after whelping. Then continue to treat with Drontal® every 3 months.
The safety of Drontal® has not been investigated during the 1st and 2nd part of pregnancy, and is therefore not recommended during these periods. Use of Drontal® for the 3 day treatment against Giardia spp. infections in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy should be based on a benefit/risk assessment conducted by a veterinarian.
